MY DAILY VERSE

Have a great day, friends!!
Here is your Verse of the Day:
Galatians 6:2 (NIV). Carry each other's burdens, and in this way you will fulfill the law of Christ....... Thoughts on This Verse... This is just another way of saying,''Love your neighbor as yourself!'' Jesus came to bear our burdens and carry away the st...ain and pain of our sin. (Read Isaiah 53 for a powerful description of God's Suffering Servant, a passage quoted in the New Testament in reference to Jesus.) He now asks us to live redemptively, in practical ways, toward those around us. More than just praying, or asking what we can do to help, we are called to serve, minister, and assist others who are burdened.

Book Giveaways

Book Giveaways

Scrumptuous...delicious....fabulous....easy.......tasty.......This unique cookbook is full of crock pot recipes that are so easy a man can cook them. I'd love to give this cookbook to my husband who has been my caregiver for the past ten years since I almost lost my life to a deadly illness. I did lose my ability to walk well or stand and I could no longer do all the things I used to do. I am thankful to God that I am alive and very grateful that my husband has graciously and compassionately taken care of me. He's become a fairly good cook, but lacks ideas. This book contains all easy to fix crock pot meals that would make his job easier and answer the "What's for supper?" question very well. Visit the Book Giveaways Blog and take your chance of winning this informative cookbook to good eating. (Click on title to visit Blog)
Good Luck,
Barb

DAILY PRAYER

Here is your Verse of the Day:
Proverbs 16:3 (NIV). Commit to the LORD whatever you do, and your plans will succeed....... Thoughts on This Verse... The real question behind this promise is very simple: How do I define success for my plans? The answer is very simple as well: bringing gl...ory to God for his grace (see Eph. 1:6, 12, 14). Committing our works and plans to God means surrendering them to God's will (James 4:13-15), trusting that God will be glorified in them (Col. 3:17), and recognizing that it is not in our power to properly guide our own steps (Prov. 16:9). God longs to bless us and empower us -- not for our own selfish ambition (James 3:16), but for our eternal good (Rom. 8:28) and God's glory. Like Jesus, when we commit our plans and works to the Lord, we are saying,''Not my will, Father, but yours be done!''

Finding Hope Through Fiction: GIVEAWAY & JIM RUBART INTERVIEW (Click Here for giveaway/interview)

This is one of the most incredible interviews I've read. I felt I was actually listening to this wonderful imaginative man's voice while he spoke. His words kept expanding with fascinating information that ran the gamut of his life; his father's, his Jesus, his books and how his imagination formed the excellent writings of his books. His interview and explanation of how he wrote each book caused my curiosity to raise higher with each word.. I NEED to read all of his writings. I'm honored and satisfied with the blessings he left to think about.

I BROKE MY BLOG!!

Oh, how on earth do I accomplish these little accidents that I can't fix or undo?  Yesterday I was trying to make some changes in my blog and make it better when suddenly I wiped all the blogs that I follow completely out and off my blog.  My apologies to those who were listed, I didn't mean to do whatever I did to lose you.  Does this mean I need to build an entire new blog?  Tonight, I don't know.  All I really do know is that when I build the blog back up, I need to follow the directions.  Dear Lord, please show me how!

Book Review of Lucy Maud Montgomery Reading Challenge 2011! at Reading to Know

As I've mentioned before, I like kicking the year off with one of my favorite, imaginative authors - L.M. Montgomery. Her works are cozy reads for me and offer an escape to the magical Prince Edward Island. It is a delight to revisit her works and challenge you to either make you first visit, or perhaps visit with some of your old Montgomery friends like Anne, Emily, Jane or Pat.

Interview with Author Teresa Brown and Book Giveaway

Book Give-Away January 10 - 17: To win ADOPTION RECORDS HANDBOOK, leave a comment about this interview with your e-mail. U.S. and Canada.

Teresa Brown has loved writing since grammar school. She is the mother of 5, grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of 7. She said, “Family is what makes the world go round and while I enjoy my friends, my family will always come first.” Teresa is the daughter of adoptive parents and a reunited birthmother. She uses her own experiences to help those who seek their birth parents or their adopted children.

I HAVE THREE OF MY OWN ADOPTED CHILDRENBecause Author Teresa Brown's book giveaway involves adopted children and locating birth mothers, I am extremely interested in this book. I have Three adopted children of my own, and have faced one of them being reunited with his birth mother in Germany. He called me from Germany when his wife Carla had located his birth mother with the help of the Red Cross. She wanted to find out the family background, which I also feel is important for adopted children. During that conversation with Mike, he was afraid that I would disapprove....he said..."But you're my mama!" while he began to cry. I told him that of course I was his mother, but he should meet his birthmother. I was ok with it. I told him to tell her thank you for doing the loving thing in giving her son to us. And a few other things to let her know how much we love Mike and hopefully made her feel better toward what she did. I'll always be grateful to her and especially God.

Trinity Rose's Garden: BOOK GIVEAWAY~ Don't Waste the Pain

Trinity Rose's Garden: BOOK GIVEAWAY~ Don't Waste the Pain
This important book speaks to emotional and physical pain in a personal way. I have registered for the giveaway of this book and hope I win. My family has been and still is in deep emotional pain and I'm in extreme physical pain since an illness left me immobilized in my legs. Our daughter is a recovering prescription drug addict and lost her 20 year old son to suicide last year. She has a difficult life. These are only two of the painful situations we experience within our family. There are 8 children between my husband and I. (His-Mine-Ours), 21 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Problems and pain are not foreign to us. The Lord is with us always and has brought us through many struggles. Praise the Lord.
