The Home of Pausing With God

Beautiful site to leave your prayer concerns. Also, devotionals available, among other interesting places to help your problems. I just left a giant concern and feel relief that others will pray when I can't think of the words to say to our Holy Savior. You don't need a formal invitation to pray here.....just visit and be rested.

God has indeed been answering prayers for my healing. After my hip replacement and intense physical therapy, I am walking with a cane. After 12 years of partial immobility, I can stand and walk again. My husband is looking forward to a home cooked meal that I will prepare myself soon. My goal is to walk without the aid of anything, except my hubby's hand and God's grace. Just wanted to let you know how well I'm doing and to thank all for the prayers and concern.

Have a blessed Sabbath Day tomorrow!

FORGIVE......ANYWAY!!

"People are often unreasonable and self-centered. Forgive them anyway. If you are kind, people may accuse you of ulterior motives. Be kind anyway. If you are honest, people may cheat you. Be honest anyway. If you find happiness, people may be jealous. Be happy anyway. The good you do today may be forgotten tomorrow. Do good anyway. Give the world the best you have and it may never be enough. Give your best anyway."

I LOVE MY CAREGIVER!!!

If you have a wonderful man who helps balance your whole world; who isn't perfect, but perfect for you; who works hard and would do anything for you; who makes you laugh and drives you crazy; who is your best friend; who you want to grow old with; who you are thankful for everyday; and who you couldn't live without. Brag about him a little and put this as your status

My wonderful man is my hubby, Jack!  I'm proud to brag on him....a lot!!  Over the past twelve years, God assigned him to be my caregiver. Whenever I've been hospitalized, he is there from morning until night and only goes home to sleep.  I can't possibly list all the wonderful things he has done for me, but he has been my legs, my hands, my eyes, my ears, my nurse, my driver, my financial supporter, my morale supporter, he knows what the nurse's job is and doesn't hesitate to say how it should be done if he notices the task isn't done right.....much to my embarrassment at times....but it is just another sign of  his love for me.  He's not a particularly romantic man, but I've learned from him how many ways there are to say "I love you."  He keeps my meds up to date and sorts them into pill boxes once a week.  He does all the grocery and household supply shopping, the cooking, the housework, cleans the pool, trains the dog, feeds the pets, helps all our kids when they need it.

How could I ask for more?  He's sacrificied his desires because he knows he is needed. He is deserving of so much in return.  I pray constantly that God will allow me to finally be on my feet to stand and walk, drive a car, prepare his meals, wash his clothes and give him all the morale support he needs.

Since my hip replacement and intensive therapy....I'm realizing that God is answering my prayers.  I hope to take all those tasks I'm supposed to do back by the first of the new year.  I think Jack deserves the pampering and attention for a change.  He needs to know what I've learned from him....the many ways I can say "I love you."

Oh, Lord, hear my prayer.  Watch Jack's health and welfare and grant him your grace and mercy in all ways.  As we both grow older, let us be together in all the ways until we must part according to your plan for each of us.  Teach us all  your ways of saying "I love you" to all who pass through our lives. Thank you, Jesus who has promised us salvation

When A Swallow Falls

I have seen quail do this in  the desert..in Lake Havasu City AZ.....

so very very sad.............
aloha

When A Swallow Falls...

All creatures feel in their own way, feelings are not exclusive to man. Here a female mate is injured and the condition is soon fatal. She was hit by a car as she swooped low across the road.

Here he brought her food and attended to her with love and compassion.

He brought her food again, but was shocked to find her dead.

He tried to move her... a rarely seen effort for swallows!

Aware that his sweetheart is dead and will never come back to him again, he cries with adoring love.

He stood beside her, saddened by her death. Finally aware she would never return to him, he stayed beside her body, chirping out his sadness and sorrow.

Millions of people cried after seeing these photos in America, Europe, Australia and even India.

The photographer sold these pictures for a nominal fee to a newspaper in France. All copies of that edition were sold out on the day these pictures were published. And many people think animals don't have brains or feelings?

You have just witnessed Love and Sorrow felt by God's creatures.

The Bible says God knows when a sparrow falls. How much more He cares for us.

Live simply, love generously, care deeply and speak kindly. Grace is God reaching down. Faith is man reaching back.

BARB'S BACK........

HELLO FRIENDS AND NEIGHBORS!

The last time I posted was two days before my hip replacement surgery. That is just a few days shy of being one month ago.  I've missed everyone, thought and prayed for you, even though I didn't post anything on Facebook during that time.  My husband brought the laptop everyday for me to check up on things, but I didn't leave any messages....couldn't get the laptop situated to where I could use the keys easily......on top of my tummy wasn't the greatest place for it! LOL

The surgery went very well and after a week in the Medical Center where I had surgery, I was transferred to HealthSouth, a remarkable and wonderful therapy hospital where I spent ten days in the best therapy I've ever experienced.

Even though the surgery was successful on my hip, and that felt 100% better, my knee to my foot was still very painful and wouldn't bear my weight.  I thought I'd need another surgery to replace the knee.  It took a while to finally bear weight on the leg, but I kept practicing.

Outpatient therapy at HealthSouth began last week.  I go three times a week for at least six weeks.  The therapy gets tougher, and so am I.  Today, I walked from the parking lot with my walker all the way into the building and down the hall to Outpatient Therapy.  This heat in Texas caused me to build up a bit of a sweat....or could it have been that I was exerting myself? LOL  After therapy, I again used my walker and walked to the entrance of the clinic.  Then, I let my husband wheel me to the car in the wheelchair.  I'm making progress.  Knee is getting better.

Tomorrow I see the doctor/surgeon for the first time since entering therapy.  I'm hoping I get a good report on my progress.  The main question I want answered is whether or not I'll need a knee replacement.  The doctor will probably think I need my head replaced instead!!!

There has been an everpresent feeling of peace and well being around me throughout this entire experience.  People in the health industry have been so kind and considerat - most of all, I felt sincere interest on their part for me as a patient.  I felt nurtured and replenished.  Thank you, Jesus for being present with me all this time.

Thank you friends for your prayers and concern through your messages.  Now, I look forward to what's ahead.  I don't know how often I'll be posting because of my therapy and schedule.....but I'll post as often as I can....or have anything to talk about. LOL  Take care and stay healthy.  Let's pray for this heat to break soon for cooler temperatures.

We all have many things to pray about all over this world.  Let's share our prayers here, there and everywhere for all matters.

Glad to be back!
Hugs,
Barb
