Interview with Author Teresa Brown and Book Giveaway

Book Give-Away January 10 - 17: To win ADOPTION RECORDS HANDBOOK, leave a comment about this interview with your e-mail. U.S. and Canada.

Teresa Brown has loved writing since grammar school. She is the mother of 5, grandmother of 7 and great-grandmother of 7. She said, “Family is what makes the world go round and while I enjoy my friends, my family will always come first.” Teresa is the daughter of adoptive parents and a reunited birthmother. She uses her own experiences to help those who seek their birth parents or their adopted children.

I HAVE THREE OF MY OWN ADOPTED CHILDRENBecause Author Teresa Brown's book giveaway involves adopted children and locating birth mothers, I am extremely interested in this book. I have Three adopted children of my own, and have faced one of them being reunited with his birth mother in Germany. He called me from Germany when his wife Carla had located his birth mother with the help of the Red Cross. She wanted to find out the family background, which I also feel is important for adopted children. During that conversation with Mike, he was afraid that I would disapprove....he said..."But you're my mama!" while he began to cry. I told him that of course I was his mother, but he should meet his birthmother. I was ok with it. I told him to tell her thank you for doing the loving thing in giving her son to us. And a few other things to let her know how much we love Mike and hopefully made her feel better toward what she did. I'll always be grateful to her and especially God.

  2. Aw, thank you Linda. Your comment is very sweet and I appreciate it. Sometimes I forget that I didn't give birth to my adopted children. I thought I couldn't have children, but.....my first husband and I divorced and when I married again, I was pregnant for the first time at almost 40, in our third year of marriage. This miracle brought me back to God - I was so full of joy and thanksgiving throughout my entire pregnancy. There is a lot more to this story. I might write about it one day. It's all to the glory of God!
    Thank you, Linda,
    Barb
